Only caught the tail end of this yesterday on the radio but managed to find a link to it on another forum.

Jeremy Vines Radio 2 programme discussing arthritis with the radio doctor. RA was talked about and how different it was from OA.

A bit of a warning.......It started off about how a lady in her 80's had ended her life because she was in so much pain from her arthritis. (Sorry if that frightens anyone)
But if anyone who is finding it difficult to make family or friends believe how painful RA can be it may help to make them listen to it.

It was about 59 minutes into the programme, so after you have a clicked on to listen again, you have to slide the bar on the top across to the right place.

Thanks for posting this. It was very interesting to listen to. The doctors last comment at the end "only 400,000 people have Rheumatoid Arthritis and only then can know how painful it is" really summed up this very painful and chronic condition.

thank you for sharing and I listened with great interest. I am sad though that it took that Nan, in this instance, to commit suicide to make RA hit the news.

I can sympathise with the "eyes to heaven routine"

My hubby is lovely,but he doesn't really "get it" and just says oh dear if i feel pain.

I have tried to show him leaflets,read things but despite being a nice bloke..he really is just a bloke i guess who doesn;'t get what a totally disabling,demoralising and self limiting illness this is!
